Overview: Messaging features

The Fogbender messaging widget isn’t your aunt’s messaging widget—it includes a set of features designed to keep users from needing to escalate to higher-fidelity modes of communication.

These features fall into several categories:

  • Rare but powerful capabilities, like multi-message reply and forward with bi-directional links, and diagram-based full-text search—made possible by our custom messaging engine
  • File handling, including intuitive uploads, in-room previews, and a full-page viewer
  • Message formatting, with light Markdown support instead of a buggy rich text editor
  • Team messaging tools, such as “multiple people are typing” indicator, mentions, and DMs
  • Agent-only functionality, including issue creation and broadcast messaging
